What is an apprenticeship?

An apprenticeship is a paid job where the employee learns new skills and gains valuable experiences.

Alongside on-the-job training, apprentices spend at least 20% of their working hours completing classroom-based learning with a college, university or training provider which leads to a nationally recognised qualification.

We are currently offering an apprenticeship forest craftsperson role. This apprenticeship is suited to both early career applicants as an alternative to higher education, and for applicants that are looking for a career change.

Salary: £20,164 per year

What does a forest craftsperson do?

  • working within the forest- fencing, planting, harvesting.

  • looking after habitats- protecting and enhancing. 

  • maintenance of equipment, safety inspections. 

This apprenticeship may be for you if you enjoy the following:

  • manual outdoors work in all weathers.

  • variety, being active.
  • working in a small team or sometimes alone.
